Issue 13 begins with Argentinian poet Leónidas Lamborghini (tr. Anayvelyse Allen-Mossman) mapping the landscape of the “garden of poets.” The poet is caught recurrently “dreaming their poem” while performing the mundane business of living. “Poets dreaming their poem shortly after sitting before an abacus.  / Poets dreaming their poem at the exact moment they shake a tambourine.” The dream of the poem arrives out of the gap between material reality and the mind drifting out of it. With the garden of poets, Lamborghini gives us a vision of the place where poems are born: a dimension that sits atop the ordinary and out of which spirit spontaneously erupts.

Like the garden of poets, the poems in this issue are sites of instantaneous transformation, energized by the incendiary friction between love and destruction, dream and material, resulting in a compilation of high spirit and complete combustion.
